WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING A DRESS DESIGNED BY MYRLANDE JULIEN?

The first step of the design process is your consultation. This appointment is all about getting to know you—your personality, your taste, and your style. This is a collaborative process, so together we’ll discuss silhouettes, fabrics, and finishes. We’ll take your measurements, decide on the design, sign our contract, and finalize your timeline and price.  After a 50% deposit is received, we will draft an original pattern, adjust the fit during fitting sessions, and finish the garment with final details like hand placed appliques and beading. Time is built-in for regular alterations and fittings, which allow you to monitor the evolving design throughout the tailoring process. You’ll be amazed by how perfectly the finished project fits your body. You’ll be even more excited by how beautiful you look and feel in a design that was inspired by your own unique style!

HOW DO PAYMENTS WORK?
The initial consultation has a nonrefundable fee that goes towards your balance. After we have agreed upon the design, materials, and budget, we require a 50% deposit that will cover the cost of materials before we begin working on the dress. The payment of the balance is due before the completion of the dress.

DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT?

Yes. We conduct all of our consultations and fittings by appointment only. Every appointment is an intimate affair, and each client deserves our undivided attention.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING TO MY FITTINGS?
Aside from your beautiful self, we invite you to bring any undergarments or shoes that you are planning on wearing with your garment.


HOW MANY FITTINGS WILL I NEED?

Typically we require 2-3 fittings; inclusive of a final fitting at or before pick-up to insure that you are fully satisfied.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN I BRING WITH ME?

You are welcome to bring one or two people. Our fitting area is cozy, so space is very limited, but we know you want to share this experience with friends and family. After all, this is your time to shine! 

WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND IN THE PROCESS?

Designs do evolve and change along the way so we are fairly flexible to making changes as we go. Minor changes can usually be done at no extra charge. However, major changes that requires purchasing additional fabric or redoing something, will have to incur additional charges in order to compensate for extra time and materials.

CAN YOU MAKE ME A DRESS USING PICTURES OF OTHER PEOPLES DESIGNS?

We enjoy creating our own original designs and do not copy other designers out of respect. It is also nearly impossible to replicate a gown exactly, this would just set us both up for frustration. However, since visuals certainly help communicate the look you are going for, we encourage you to bring / send us photos of dresses you like to use as inspiration.

CANCELLATIONS

Once an order has been placed, it cannot be cancelled.

RETURNS

We want your shopping experience with us to be an enjoyable one and hope you love each item you purchase. However; if you are not 100% satisfied with your order, we are here to make your returns as smooth as possible. You can email us at myrlandejulienfds@gmail.com if you have any questions. Returns should be sent within 7 days of receiving your orders. We DO NOT offer Refunds. You are eligible for an exchange or store credit for NON ‘Made to Order’ piece(s) if they are returned in their original state unworn, without damage, makeup or deodorant stains and with their tags attached to the label.

SALE Purchases are FINAL! No Exchanges or Refunds

Please include your order invoice and reason for return with the merchandise for tracking purposes.Packaging must be well maintained and merchandise should fit accordingly inside return boxes or envelopes to prevent damage or over wrinkling to avoid restock fee. Anything purchased at a discounted price is a FINAL SALE and is not eligible for return. Availability of a replacement item is not guaranteed. Damages must be reported within 1 calendar day of receiving merchandise or cannot be returned on that basis.Returns must be received unwashed, unworn and in new condition. If the item arrives with tags on it, the item must be returned with original tags still attached. Original shipping is not refundable.

Returns are processed within 5-7  business days of receiving your return. We will send you an email confirmation when your return has been received and the store credit minus the shipping cost has been issued. Colours and size may vary due to photography lenses, indoor/outdoor lighting and computer monitor resolutions.  Clothing patterns may also vary. These situations do not qualify as defects or qualify for refunds. We recommend tracking and insuring and keeping your shipping receipts until your return is processed. We are not responsible for damaged, missing or packages lost in transit.
